Bohemian Art Deco Czech cut engraved and flashed glass vase in a Moser style. It is easy to find faceted vases from Bohemia, but it is is rare to find one in this colour combination. There are five flashed panels in yellow, which have a different engraving on each panel. The engraving is of good quality. It is typical of the better production from the 1930's. From what little we know of the provenance we cannot date it any more accurately than between 1930 and the mid 1950's. We have suggested that it might be Moser, but it is difficult to be certain particularly during this period of changing factory ownerships. The foot of the vase is a stunning turquoise blue colour and follows the same faceting pattern as the upper half. Although restrained in form, the colour combination would happily sit aside deco designed pieces. It is possibly by Moser, or Meyrs Neffe. A superb quality and medium scale vase. |
