| Art Nouveau pottery vase by R H & S L Plant ? - This is a lovely vase. It has the numbers 20734 on the base. If this refers to a registration number, then this would indicate a registration in 1885. However it probably is not a registration number. There are also some letters, which are impressed over each other. These letters look like P and L. Sometimes Plant would use combinations of letters to mark their work, so we wonder if this could be a Plant piece. Ceramics by Plant are very rare. It has a slight iridescence to its surface and is a lovely propeller shape. Other alternatives include European manufacturies. The glaze under the iridescence is not unlike those used in France. It is a lovely vase. |
