Bolton and Mills glass vase applied plums or blueberries, in the manner of Stevens and Williams or Webb with Mat-Su-No-Ke branches. We think this could be by Bolton & Mills because it is done with a great deal of precision. The curosity is the cut top because this is not normally an English Style, but the weight and feel of the glass strongly suggest that it is English. The execution of the fruits and the leaves is a lot better than many pieces we've seen attributed to Stevens and Williams. We are fairly certain it is old and English and a very nice piece to add to your collection of Victorian glass with applications. |
