Fishley Holland miniature studio pottery jug. The Fishley Holland's were some of the best studio and country pottery makers during the last century. The now very famous, Michael Cardew, was taught by William Fishley Holland. There is always a certain style to West Country pottery that binds these together. This is a delightful miniature jug. Although unmarked (it is so small), it is most certainly by the Fishley Holland pottery. As to whether it is by Fishley Holland senior or junior, it is difficult to say. It probably dates from between 1920 and 1940. |
