Leaping Glass Shark Fish Murano Czech or Schneider
Leaping Shark Fish Murano, Czech or Schneider. This is an amazing glass shark. It has a real life and strength as it launches itself from the water. It has a subtle colouring inside the glass and and even the gills can be seen. There is no makers mark or label.

It is possibly Murano, as Murano makers often create animal and fish sculptures. Another possibilty might be Schneider. Unusual though that attribution may be, during the last decades before closure in 1981 Schneider did make animals in this style [18]. It has a very similar feel and look as lamp bases in the style of breaking waves which are marked Schneider. Alternatively it could be Bohemian, since this style was produced in this part of the world too.

The shark has real movement and it makes a great centrepiece and talking piece. We think it's a leaping shark, so this would be great for anyone with an interest in fishing.

Height 28 cm

Width 19 cm

Condition is good. There is a fold within the glass base which happened during its manufacture. It is small and below the surface and hardly visible, but we are reporting this for completeness. We have tried to highlight this in the lower picture. There are a few small scratches on one of the fins, but these look like tooling marks in the making. Packaged Weight 4500g
