| Basil Matthews pottery standing deer or fawn No 13 figure. This is an absolutely super figure. We don't know a lot about Basil Matthews. We think he worked during the 1950's - 1960's. The pottery is very heavy and easily broken, so we are pleased to present a figure with legs and ears and horns that are intact. Basil Matthews certainly had a sense of fun. Many of his animal figures are painted in a fantastical manner, and they are all given character. Many are given names or numbers. Here, Basil Matthews has given this deer figure the number 13. Could be lucky for some! It is very delightful. |
